The future is female

The future is female

We have spent the past week meeting with brands and designers in a very beautiful but rainy Paris and as we return to Sydney on the eve of International Women’s Day, we’re brightened by the strength and conviction of the FW17 collections.

As women continue to fight for new rights and retain those rights previously won that now balance precariously on political agendas around the world, the movement continues to build momentum, and the game changers, fashion pioneers, and legends of designs lend their voice and use their power for good.

From the powerful statement Dior ‘We should all be feminists’ t-shirt, to the window of the cult boutique colette on rue Saint-Honoré. Meanwhile Preen by Thornton Bregazzi has drawn on this struggle for equality and presented a range that combines a rebellious feminine edge with an undeniable ‘you can’t rock me attitude’.

There is a mood, no scrap that, a resistance rising. The future is female, rise up.
